This WORLD CLOCK comes with a story.
A fifth grade teacher who I'm quite fond of told a group of her students to go down to the school library to find out, "how many people there were in the world". They returned to the classroom 20 minutes later with their answer written on a piece of notwbook paper. The teacher, the librarian and the students were pleased with their accomplishment. I asked that teacher why she 1) didn't use Google and the web and 2) search for "world clock". We then discussed the different sources and the question of why they differed. Hummm? I don't think she cared very much for that discussion so we ended that part of our discussion.
I wanted to talk about how many different kinds of intelligence there were. She said there were 7 and that she knew because she got the answer right on Dr. S's test a few weeks back in her teacher education class. I didn't have the heart to tell her that she might very well be wrong. Oh well. Contact me if you want to talk about this or anything related? She was wrong you know :)
This story is entirely true, or at least mostly true. It is however a blend of what happened on two different occasions with two different people.
Our presentation at SOITA DAYTON, December, 2010.
